Fossils can present clues to how crops and animals lived up to now – what they appeared like, what they ate, what environments they lived in, and the way they developed and went extinct. For hundreds of hundreds of thousands of years, the remains of organisms (as properly as tracks, trails, and burrows – called trace fossils) had been the vast majority of the clues left behind in Earth’s fossil report. A fossil may be studied to discover out what sort of organism it represents, how the organism lived, and the means it was preserved.
